Lithuanian–Latvian Partnership: Why Is Cooperation Across the Baltic Region Becoming More Important Than Ever?

  • Lithuanian–Latvian Partnership: Why Is Cooperation Across the Baltic Region Becoming More Important Than Ever?

Recent years have clearly demonstrated that security extends far beyond defence technologies and military equipment. Equally important are a strong industrial base, resilient supply chains, and close cooperation between businesses, research institutions and public authorities.

These are precisely the topics being discussed today at the Lithuanian–Latvian Defence & Security Business Forum in Vilnius, bringing together representatives of businesses and institutions from both countries. Held during the official visit of the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, to Lithuania, the forum brings together companies operating in the defence, security and critical infrastructure sectors. Such events are far more than networking opportunities – they provide a platform to better understand regional needs, exchange expertise and identify solutions that strengthen the resilience of the entire Baltic region.

Bio-Circle Balticum is represented at the forum by Romualdas Mikštas and Arūnas Skarupskas. For a company specialising in industrial cleaning, maintenance solutions and specialised technologies for the defence and security sectors, events like this provide an important opportunity not only to showcase our expertise, but also to gain valuable insights into the evolving needs of the industry.

Today, the defence sector encompasses much more than the production of end products. It relies on an entire ecosystem—from manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance to reliable supply chains, workplace safety and sustainable technological solutions. This is why increasingly close cooperation between Lithuanian and Latvian businesses is becoming an essential part of strengthening the region's long-term resilience.

"A strong defence sector starts with a strong industry, and a strong industry starts with cooperation".

We believe that lasting partnerships begin with open dialogue. Every meeting like this is another step towards building a safer, more competitive and more closely connected Baltic region.
